Botox

Botox is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions, and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscles. It is made from a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin that is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

Botox treatment is minimally invasive. It's considered a safe, effective treatment for fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes (crow's feet), forehead lines and frown lines between the eyes, Bunny lines around the nose, smoker's line around the lips and chin dimples. According to a recent study, micro Botox injections can be given all over the face and neck as early as 25 years to delay the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to maintain flawless skin.

How Is a Botox Procedure Performed?

It's a minimally invasive procedure. It doesn't involve incisions or general anaesthesia. If you're concerned about pain or discomfort, a topical anaesthetic or ice can numb the treatment area.

Botox is injected with a fine 30 gauze needle into the specific muscles with only minor discomfort. It generally takes three to seven days for the full effect and it is best to avoid alcohol at least one week prior to treatment.
